Tailgating 2008 Here We Come!

Here we are folks. The place doesn't have a name...or at least not one that I know about, so suggestions are welcome. I thought about Temporary Site #4, but that seems too impersonal. Thanks to the Bauble clan for their help. Joe has been telling me about this place for two years. Flint was kind enough to get out of bed on a dreary day to give Teresa and I a tour and impart his local knowledge of Game Day procedures. I'll try to acquaint you with this lovely spot, although two dimensional pictures make it tough.

New Home?

Way Up There?

The first shot is looking up the hill from the back parking lot of building D of the Draughon Extension. As you can see, there is plenty of grass and trees. The white circle is Jordan-Hare...don't panic...it isn't that far! The blue arrow is a modular restroom...can I get an amen? The green arrow is the Fisheries Annex/National Weather Service building, which is next to the student tennis courts on Wire Road.

In and Out

Down The Hill

Looking back to where the first picture was taken, you can see the lower parking lot. There is a ramp marked by the white ellipse that you can use to drive onto the grass. The white arrow points back down the driveway to Wire Road.

Ahhhhhh!

First Things First!

There is no way Teresa will let me forget this!

Wave!

The Hike

As I said before, the pictures of the stadium are a little deceiving. Look carefully and you can see that the picture is across the stadium and of the East upper deck. With all of the construction, I had a hard time getting a specific distance, but as far as I can tell, it is about 3 and 3/4 tenths (.375) of a mile. The trip is MAYBE a half of a block farther (from my seats) than The Hill was. We will be closer to Tiger Walk, but farther from the stores. Of course, there maybe new transit options, too.

Valet?

Upper Lot

This is a shot of the upper parking lot of building D of the Draughon Extension. Inside blue ellipse you can see the traffic lights at the Wire Road - Roosevelt Drive intersection.

Come On In!

Driveway

This is Wire Road headed North. The black car is leaving the lower parking lot of the Draughon Extension. Isn't this exciting?!?

Looks Different!

Across Wire Road

This is looking back to the new place from the Fisheries Annex/National Weather Service driveway, across Wire Road.

Wide View

Try This

I did a little experimenting with the camera and some new software. This picture is actually 5 regular pictures "stitched" together. At this size it doesn't look like a big deal. I'm putting a full size version "here". Be forewarned that is a BIG picture and my take even broadband users a minute or more to open. Use your Windows scroll bars for a true panoramic effect.
